Copacabana Fortress
The Forte de Copacabana celebrates 100 years of existence ... and is right here, practically in front of Hotel Orla Copacabana!
Built in 1914, the site was considered the last defense fortification of Guanabara Bay and now houses, besides the Historical Museum of the Army, Confeitaria Colombo and Café 18 do Forte, famous among Cariocas and tourists for their afternoon tea in the air free. In its lookout, where the old war cannons are located, you can see the Cagarras Islands, Arpoador and Devil's Beach. The space is also known for hosting important congresses such as TEDx, Rio 20 and Soccerex.
